The 8Wise™ experience: a workshop for educators on supporting learner and staff wellbeing

With Kim Rutherford

Enhance mental health and wellbeing in education with the 8Wise™ approach. Led by Kim Rutherford, this interactive workshop equips educators with practical strategies to support students, staff, and themselves. Learn to identify concerns, foster resilience, and create a culture of wellbeing in schools, colleges, and training settings.

March 27 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm GMT

Mental health and wellbeing are essential for both learners and educators, and creating a supportive, resilient culture is more important than ever. This interactive workshop, led by Kim Rutherford, Co-founder of Dalton Wise Ltd, introduces the 8Wise™ approach – a holistic, practical framework designed to improve mental health and emotional resilience across schools, colleges, and training providers.

This session will help educators, trainers, and support staff develop the skills to identify and address mental health concerns in students, trainees, and colleagues. By recognising early warning signs, participants will gain practical strategies to respond effectively and with sensitivity, ensuring a proactive approach to mental health support. In addition to addressing student wellbeing, the workshop also focuses on self-care for educators, providing techniques to manage stress, maintain emotional balance, and sustain effectiveness in demanding roles.

A key element of the workshop is creating supportive learning environments where positive mental health is embedded into daily practice. Educators will explore how to foster emotional resilience within classrooms, lecture halls, and training spaces, ensuring wellbeing is prioritised across all aspects of learning. With a strong foundation in mental health principles, attendees will leave with the knowledge and confidence to apply best practices in their own institutions.

The 8Wise™ framework stands out as a holistic and actionable approach, focusing on prevention and early intervention to tackle mental health issues before they escalate. It emphasises a whole-person approach, addressing cognitive, emotional, physical, and social wellbeing, ensuring that support is comprehensive and meaningful. Most importantly, the session equips educators with practical strategies that can be implemented immediately, allowing them to make a real difference in their institutions.

This workshop is a must for educators, trainers, and support staff who are committed to building a healthier, more resilient learning community. Join us to explore how the 8Wise™ approach can transform mental health and wellbeing in education.
