Why attend?

This new termly event ensures participants stay ahead with the latest safeguarding knowledge, gain valuable insights from industry leaders, and build a robust network of peers. As safeguarding challenges continue to evolve, the role of educators in protecting young people has never been more crucial. By attending the Spring Safeguarding Event, you will join a proactive community of professionals committed to creating safe learning environments and addressing the risks that threaten the safety and well-being of others. Participants will explore core safeguarding responsibilities while addressing pressing issues. This term’s event features:

  • Vital Prevent update, including the current national risk picture, the Government review of extremism and Prevent and Prevent data and trends referral pathways.
  • Presentation and discussion on knife crime and the challenges faced and how we can all play a part in its reduction.
  • Presentation of SaferSpace, a web-based platform and mobile app to help report and prevent unacceptable behaviours such as sexual harassment, discrimination and radicalisation immediately identifying hotspots and patterns and intervene quickly.

 

Who is the event for?

This network’s Spring Event is for safeguarding officers, designated safeguarding leads (DSLs), senior leaders, and educators across schools, colleges, and training providers who are dedicated to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all.

Together, we can share ideas, solve challenges, and develop innovative solutions to protect all students and ensure they are free from harm.
