Josh Mellor is a journalist at FE Week, with a particular interest in devolution, policy, and governance. Since joining in 2024, he’s looked into how billions are spent through flagship government programmes such as skills bootcamps and the shared prosperity fund, investigated how metro mayors are using their newfound freedoms in skills policy, and puzzled over college VAT rules. Before joining FE Week, he worked as a local reporter covering councils in east London, and at a court news agency. Before re-skilling as a journalist, he was an English language teacher.
