Jessica Hill

Jessica is the Commissioning and Investigations Editor of EducationScape

As investigations and commissioning editor of FE Week, Jessica commissions insightful opinion pieces which touch on the biggest issues facing FE and skills today, and help to foster a sense of community for the sector. The other half of her week is spent writing in-depth investigations, features and profile interviews which shine a light on the real-life impact of the political, social and financial issues facing colleges and training providers.

Her investigations have helped expose the realities of life for those delivering prison education, lack of available NEET (not in education, employment or training) provision, unskilled workers using fake ID cards to blag construction work and the attendance crisis in colleges.

Since joining Educationscape in November 2022, she has scooped a British Journalism Award in 2023 (and been shortlisted for another one since), and was named specialist journalist of the year 2024 in The Press Awards.

She has a deep appreciation for the work that FE does and feels proud to represent a sector that lacks the attention it deserves on the national stage!
