LEVEL 4 CERTIFICATE IN EDUCATION AND TRAINING

This qualification is designed to develop practical teaching skills and, through the optional units, prepares teachers to work in a wide range of contexts.

Study Hours

Approx. 150 hours.

Assessment

Assessed by internally set and marked assessments. There is a requirement for a minimum of 30 hours of practice for this qualification with a minimum of three observations totalling a minimum of three hours.

Course Duration

We expect you to complete this course within 12 months. Most of our learners will complete this within 9-12 months.

This is an online course delivered through taught sessions together with tutor support and self-directed study.

Aims and Objectives

The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training builds practical teaching skills and, through its optional units, equips teachers to work across a variety of settings. It is designed to support a broad range of trainee teachers with the aim of the qualification designed to demonstrate occupational competence in a teaching role within the workplace.

Entry Guidance

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However, there is a requirement to carry out an initial assessment of a trainee teacher’s personal skills in English, mathematics and ICT.

This qualification is suitable for Learners aged 19+.

Mode of Delivery

Open cohorts will be advertised throughout the academic year on our ESTE website for booking and delivered online in a supportive group environment. Cohorts designed to meet organisational needs can be delivered in person, online or hybrid through a flexible and accessible approach.
