Sara Alston of SeaInclusion will provide DSLs and other leaders with the latest guidance on Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2025. The subject matter is vital, as even technical updates to KCSIE can have significant implications for policy, practice, and compliance. Being proactive in response to these changes not only ensures your setting’s legal compliance but also upholds the highest standards of safeguarding for children and young people.

A critical Prevent duty update from Sam Slack, DfE Prevent Co-ordinator, who will delve into the factors contributing to lower Prevent referrals in educational settings and explore the implications for schools’ proactive safeguarding responsibilities, including early identification of vulnerability to radicalisation and the importance of fostering a safe space for discussion.

Shane Williams of Global Policing will provide essential input on how to conduct attendance and safeguarding home visits safely and effectively, ensuring the well-being of both staff and students while maintaining adherence to safeguarding protocols and gathering crucial information to support a child’s welfare within the educational context.
