This new partnership represents the next step in the Festival’s mission to bring educators together across borders to celebrate, connect, and share ideas that shape the future of learning. It will unite schools, colleges, and partners from across the State and beyond for a day of inspiration, collaboration, and discovery.
The global family of Festivals of Education is operated by EducationScape, which delivers the events in partnership with Wellington College Education, the organisation that founded the original Festival in 2010. Together, they have grown the concept into a worldwide movement, supporting international editions that share a common purpose: to bring educators together, elevate professional dialogue, and celebrate the transformative impact of teaching and learning.
As ever, the Washington, D.C. edition of the Festival will explore some of the most important themes in education today, from the science of teaching and intercultural dialogue, to belonging and wellbeing, leadership, and the role of artificial intelligence in learning. Together, these conversations will invite educators to think differently, challenge assumptions, and reimagine what’s possible in classrooms and communities around the world.
More than just an event, the Festival of Education continues to be a place where those who inspire, come to be inspired, a unique opportunity to share ideas, spark creativity, and celebrate the transformative power of education.
Next year’s Festival also builds on strong foundations laid by our previous host, St Andrew’s Episcopal School, and The Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning (CTTL). Over the past three years, their partnership, passion, and vision have helped establish the Festival of Education in the USA as a leading space for professional learning and innovation. We extend our deepest thanks to the entire St Andrew’s and CTTL communities for their invaluable contribution to the Festival’s growth and success.
Commenting on the new partnership, Shane Mann, Global Festival Co-Director and CEO of EducationScape, said:
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with The British International School of Washington for the next chapter of the USA Festival of Education. The school’s values of global citizenship, curiosity, and collaboration reflect the very essence of the Festival. We’re also enormously grateful to St Andrew’s Episcopal School and the Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning for helping us establish the Festival in the U.S. Their support and creativity have shaped something truly special, and we’re excited to build on that legacy here in Washington.”
Commenting on behalf of the school, Oona Carlin, Principal of The British International School of Washington, said:
“We are delighted to welcome the Festival of Education community to our campus in Washington, D.C. The Festival embodies everything we value as a school — collaboration, curiosity, and the belief that learning is a lifelong journey. We look forward to creating an inspiring day where educators, innovators, and changemakers can come together to connect, reflect, and celebrate education in all its forms.”
The Festival of Education, first launched by Wellington College in the UK over 15 years ago, now spans multiple international editions across China, Thailand, The Netherlands, Spain, the UK, and the USA, each bringing together diverse voices united by a shared passion for learning.
