The Festival of Education will make its European debut with the inaugural Spain Festival of Education, hosted at The British School of Barcelona (BSB) BSB Castelldefels campus on 13 June 2026.
This landmark event brings the internationally celebrated Festival model to mainland Europe for the first time, offering educators across Spain and wider Europe a unique opportunity to connect, collaborate and be inspired.
Following the successful format of its UK counterpart and other international editions, the Festival of Education Spain will combine high-quality professional learning with the atmosphere of a true celebration. Attendees will experience a vibrant mix of keynotes, debates and workshops, all set in a festival-style environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and collaboration.
Designed to support the professional growth of teachers, school leaders, policymakers, education innovators, and support staff, the Festival will offer content in Catalan, Spanish, and English, ensuring it is welcoming and accessible to the entire education community.
Chief Executive of EducationScape and Festival Co-Director, Shane Mann, said:
“We are thrilled to bring the Festival of Education to Spain for the first time. It’s a chance to celebrate the work of educators, while connecting with international thinking and practice.
“The Festival has always been about bringing people together to share, reflect, and grow – and now we’re proud to extend that spirit across Europe.”
Hosted at BSB Castelldefels, a modern, purpose-built school just outside Barcelona, the Festival will benefit from its striking coastal setting and excellent facilities. The location provides the ideal venue for the Festival’s signature blend of professional dialogue and relaxed community spirit.
Commenting on the launch of Festival of Education Spain, Neil Tetley, Executive Principal of BSB, said:
“We are incredibly proud to be the host school for the first Festival of Education in Europe.
“At BSB, we believe in the power of community, innovation, and continuous professional growth. Hosting the Festival reflects those values and offers an exciting opportunity for teachers from across Spain and beyond to come together, engage in open dialogue, share best practice, and leave empowered to make a difference in their classrooms and communities.”
